All you can do is enter a useful error value (which can be SD or SEM) and Prism will probably use that array of values to form the horizontal error bars. Please note that you cannot enter replicated X values and a prism to define error bars, nor can you set correct and ignored error values yourself. You may be able to enter X errors in the rating values in the “Welcome” (or “New Table”) dialog box.

This next sentence example is probably meant to enter the mean, standard deviation, and N for each point. The following script is defined for an entry most commonly associated with two replicated values (duplicates), but users can select any number up to 2256. in the “Graph and Average Format” menu and “SEM” in the “Graph” drop-down menu. To do this, select “Mean and Error” from the “Appearance” dropdown. Even if you encounter repetitions or error values based on Y values, you must have Prism draw Y error bars to have Prism draw X error bars.
